The Philadelphia Zoo

The Philadelphia Zoo’s 42-acre Victorian garden is home to more than 1,300 animals, many of them rare and endangered. A leading Philadelphia family attraction with over 1 million visitors a year, they have an incredible story to tell.

Working with our partner, Weblications, and staff from departments throughout the zoo, we were engaged to redesign their website to better meet their needs and that of their visitors and other audiences. Our goals were extensive:

  • Build a state-of-the-art website that is easy to navigate and use, and responsive to a range of devices
  • Create a powerful first impression for the zoo, with a look that is contemporary, while drawing upon the zoo’s rich history
  • Help visitors to have a great experience from the moment they arrive at the zoo
  • Support special programming and events to attract new visitors, and to encourage a culture where people think of the zoo as a place that is part of their life
  • Be an educational resource for information on animals at the zoo
  • Connect and energize people who care about the zoo, and make it easy for them to volunteer and donate
  • Ignite a passion for conversation-related causes

In addition to designing the website, modifying some brand elements, and developing an interactive, mobile-friendly trip planner to enhance the visitor experience at the zoo, we also helped with the design of an intranet to support internal communications, and a smaller companion website for the children’s zoo.

We were honored to be selected for this work, and proud to call The Philadelphia Zoo a client.
